Women's Swimsuits for Every Body Type

Author: Suzie Quatro
We are all very conscious when it comes to wearing a swimsuit. So it is crucial to select the right swimsuit style to flatter your body type. We all have good features and some not so good features we would rather not speak about. Women should feel confident when wearing a bathing suit, and by selecting the right swimsuit style you will be able to flatter your good and not so good body features. So lets get started.
Here are some tips ...
that will help you select the right swimsuit for your body type. Since you are usually very conscious of your not so flattering features, this does not mean that everyone is looking at them. If you select the right swimsuit for your body type, this will draw people's eyes away from these areas and cause them to look at your best features.
Once you have determined what your body shape is, it will make selecting a swimsuit a lot easier for you. For starters you should first look at yourself in a full length mirror and determine what your body shape is. Now that you have determined what your body shape is, use the following guidelines to help you select the perfect swimsuit for your body type.
(1) Large Build: For a full figured woman or a woman that is busty, there are several options in the style swimsuit to select. If you have a large bust then a Tankini will flatter you by covering the upper stomach and giving you the support you will need for your bust area. A second option in tops for the busty woman is the Halter Top, which will help bring the upper section of the body together and create a centralized focal point, which in turn will draw eyes away from the areas that you do not want people to look at. If your bust is considerably larger in size than your bottom then another alternative is to wear a two-piece swimsuit that has a different color top to the color of the bottoms.
(2) Medium Build: If you have a larger bust than your bottom, then a Halter style top will do the job and give you the support that you will need. You will also get the attention we all enjoy. If you have a larger bottom than your bust or mid-section, a full swimsuit bottom will help cover up and give you support at the same time. You can also select a one-piece swimsuit with a skirted bottom, which will slim you and cover the hips and thighs and flatter the top. Consider wearing a two-piece bathing suit, which has a boy short bottom. If you have a smaller bust and larger mid-section, then stick with the Tankini. This will help cover and reduce the size of your mid-section as well as accentuate the upper section of your bust area.
(3) Light Build: For a light build woman who is lacking in the backside, a normal bikini cut bottom will be best. If your backside is average in size then you should wear a Brazilian cut bikini bottom, which will define your stomach as well as your backside. For a larger busted woman the Tankini or Halter style top will give you both the support you need and also define your curves. A small-busted woman should wear a Halter Top to define the bust area and also add some cleavage, which some Halter cut tops will give you. If you have an hourglass shape, you will need to select either a Halter or Triangle Bikini, which will accentuate your best features.
(4) Colors and Patterns: Colors and patterns are another very important aspect when selecting a swimsuit. Let us start with patterns. A swimsuit that has a pattern in the fabric will tend to draw one's eyes to the pattern. Colors also play a very important role when selecting a swimsuit. Dark colors tend to hide areas you are not too fond of. Light colors will do the opposite; they will define areas that you are fond of and want people to look at. Your skin tone will also dictate what color swimsuit you should select. If you have a fair complexion, the colors for you are electric blue, reds, pinks and greens. These colors will bring out the colors of your face, hair color and eyes. If you have a medium complexion or medium skin tone, select browns, navy blue, purples and greens. These colors will bring out the highlights in your eyes and hair and also help even out your skin tone. For darker skin toned women, in order to offset your darker skin tone and define your curves, you should select a swimsuit that is either white, neon colors, light tans or even beiges.
We hope that these tips will help you next time you are in the market for a new swimsuit. Remember that you have to feel good about yourself and comfortable in your new bathing suit when you purchase a swimsuit. If you feel good when wearing your new swimsuit, you will bring out the confidence in you and it will show when you strut your stuff. Happy Shopping!
